Leucadendrons are becoming ever more available at nurseries and in all different colors ranging from reds to yellows to greens and greys and in any combination of those colors! I am using them in many of my designs for a number of reasons. First, they are adapted to our type of climate coming from the tip of South Africa, they are incredibly colorful, evergreen and drought tolerant! I use them as focal points usually because they put on such a wonderful show year round. This one was recently planted for a client in Scotts Valley, CA. The setting sun behind the leaves makes the plant just glow!
